WHO ARE WE?

We are fifteen members of the Connecticut Farms Church congregation mandated by the By-laws. Our job is to minister to those who are in need, minister to the sick, minister to the friendless and to any who may be in distress both within the church and out in the community. We exemplify the caring, compassion, and loving as people of God.

HOW DOES THE DEACON DO THE ABOVE?

  1. Comfort those who have lost a loved one
  2. Comfort the sick
  3. Reach out to the homebound
  4. Try to be the "hands and feet" of the Church in helping in times of crises
  5. Do whatever possible to assist with the running of the Church with the direction of the minister and elders.

HOW ARE THE DEACONS ORGANIZED TO SERVE?

We are led by a moderator who is our leader and works with the minister and elders. Numerous aspects of our ministry cover but are not limited to the presenting of flowers/baskets, ushering, hospital outreach, stewardships, Nursery School, Boy Scouts, and helping to celebrate new births in the Church.

Besides their jobs and responsibilities above, there are numerous jobs that the Deacons do to facilitate the smooth running of our Church. Those jobs may include assisting in Sunday services and to reach out to help and aid our Church and community.

IF YOU ARE CALLED UPON TO SERVE AS A DEACON, PLEASE CONSIDER DOING SO.
