Youth Ministry

Youth Fellowship

Sunday Evenings
7:00 P.M. - 8:30 P.M.

At Connecticut Farms Church we are dedicated to providing our youth
with programs and people that deepen their faith in Jesus Christ and
strengthen their moral, spiritual and intellectual commitment to God's way.

We offer our youth, 6th grade and above: devotions, outreach programs,
monthly outings and evenings of fun and fellowship.

Come out and join us!

Youth Ministry Mission Statement

The Goals of Youth Ministry Are...

  • to provide youth an experience of Christian community.
  • to provide youth a context for discussing the interaction of scripture, faith, and issues in their personal life.
  • to develop in youth a commitment to following Christ's call to serve and love one another in mission.
  • to develop in youth a sense of the importance of worship.
  • to provide adult Christian role models and mentors, from a variety of lifestyles and ages if possible.
  • to provide youth a grounding in the faith and the church that will both help the youth now and stand them in good stead in the future.
  • to provide youth an alternative peer environment.
  • to provide youth broader contact with and greater opportunities for service to Connecticut Farms Church.
  • to develop leadership skills in youth.

Our Youth Leaders will use this mission statement to measure and evaluate our program for the coming year. We ask that you keep us and our teens in your prayers as we attempt to strengthen their relationship with us, with each other, and with our risen Lord.

Update: May 2008

Sometimes it's important to pause and count our blessings and just give thanks for all we've been given. It seems like a long time since we've done that in the space provided here. Our Youth Ministry has been blessed beyond measure.

First and foremost we have been blessed with some of the best teens imaginable. These young people make it easy to chaperone by being attentive and respectful and following directions. They bring energy and enthusiasm to any challenge. These teens are clearly church leaders of the future.

Secondly, we are blessed to have a good group of youth leaders. Diane Goessl is never at a loss for fresh ideas and enthusiasm. Kevin Egbert has always been a tireless worker. Matt Glaser keeps trying to reach these kids on a spiritual level. Danielle Ristovski is close enough in age to our teens to be able to relate to the difficulties they face. Barbara Ebert and Pat Allister have always been willing to jump in and fill any need that arises. All of these adult leaders have shown their love for Christ by displaying his love to our young disciples.

Thirdly, we are blessed with parents who support our efforts. Without the support of parents, we wouldn't have a flock to shepherd.

Finally, we are blessed to be part of a church family that prioritizes young people. It's clear from the amount of resources this church directs toward its Christian Education program that our children are important to us. It's also apparent because you as a congregation have always generously supported our efforts with your treasures as well as with your prayers.

We pray that you will continue to support us and that God will continue to bless our Youth Ministry!
